Subverting Democracy Is Not Partisan. It Is Immoral.

On Friday of last week, a federal appeals court in the former capital of the Confederacy spoke with moral clarity against provisions of a 2013 North Carolina law that “target[s] African-Americans with almost surgical precision.” It was a victory for democracy and the potential of beloved community in America, for sure. But it was also a vindication of the moral movement that knew this law was the last stand against our power to become the America we’ve not yet been.
